-NEW MEMBER REQUIREMENTS-
Membership of this organization is open to all full-fee paying students of Stephen F. Austin State University.
* Prospective members, with the exception of incoming freshman, must have at least a 2.5 GPA. * All members must have desirable moral character. * All members must have a demeanor that will positively reflect the sorority. * All members must have a positive relationship with the other members. * All prospective members are required to participate in two (2) study hours per week for the entire semester and are to be supervised by a member of the Executive Board. Any student in good academic standing as defined by university regulations shall be eligible for membership, provided that such students meet campus regulations governing participation in student organizations. Prospective members are students who have gone through Rush and have an interest in becoming a member of the sorority. Prospective members do not gain any privileges of active membership until they have completed the prospective member period and have been initiated into the sorority. Prospective members must attend all sorority events with the exception of informal meetings. |
-DUTIES OF A "PEARL"-
A "Pearl" is what Sigma Kappa Omega active members call a prospective new member because all new members are precious to us.
As a pearl, your duties include: - Bond with your sisters - Attend formal and Pledge meetings - Attain Pledge points: *Attend events *Pass quizzes - Plan an event as a pledge class - Big/Lil sis activities *Reveal *Dinners *Paddle exchange - Pearl Adopt-A-Highway - Dues are $160 a semester |
